Residents of the republic are invited to support Tatarstan at the Volga Federal District festival "FormART."
In Naberezhnye Chelny, a ceremonial opening of a mural created as part of the regional street art festival of the Volga Federal District "FormART" took place. The new art object became a gift to the city for its 400th anniversary and appeared on the facade of house No. 87A on Shamil Usmanov Street. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan Azat Kadyrov and the mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Nail Magdeev. Together, they applied the festival logos of "FormART" to the mural, after which the work was officially opened. The author of the mural is the artist Alexander Popov. His sketch "Family Traditions" was recognized as the best among 96 works submitted for the regional stage of the competition. The canvas depicts a grandmother and granddaughter who are preparing a national Tatar dish – echpochmak – together. The composition symbolizes the continuity of generations, respect for family values, and the preservation of traditions. "The work is done very professionally and of high quality. The colors are well chosen, and the painting conveys a special warmth. It immediately brings back memories of childhood when we cooked together with my grandmother: cutting meat, making dumplings, baking echpochmaks. I am sure this mural has already become beloved by the residents of nearby houses and will now become a new point of attraction for all Chelny residents and guests of the city," noted the Minister of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan Azat Kadyrov. The artist's grandmother, Svetlana Arkadyevna, was present at the opening to support her grandson. The mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny thanked her for raising a talented artist: "This mural is a true work of art that has beautified the city. Now, when inviting guests, residents can say: orient yourself to the house where the grandmother and granddaughter are making echpochmaks. Looking at this work, everyone remembers their home, their loved ones, and family traditions. It is such images that make the city warmer and closer to people. We will definitely consider the possibility of organizing architectural lighting here so that the mural decorates Naberezhnye Chelny even in the evening." Alexander Popov's work represents Tatarstan at the regional stage of the "FormART" festival. The winners will be determined by public voting, which is taking place on the "Gosuslugi" portal. You can support the mural "Family Traditions" until August 16 inclusive by selecting work number 4: https://pos.gosuslugi.ru/lkp/polls/621853/
