In the Yelabuga district of Tatarstan on the Kama River, a commercial organization was extracting minerals outside the licensed area. A total of at least 910 tons of sand was extracted, reported the press service of the Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office. The company used a tugboat and a floating crane. At the same time, it did not comply with the requirements of the vessel safety management system and did not properly transmit navigational information about their location.
— Non-compliance with regulatory rules and licensing conditions for mineral extraction could have led to emergency situations, including navigation violations (running aground) due to changes in the bottom relief as a result of the sand extraction work, the agency emphasized.

The shipowner was issued a notice. By order of the Kama Transport Prosecutor, the vessels were suspended from operation until the violations were rectified. An administrative offense case was initiated against the organization under part 2 of article 7.3 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the conditions stipulated by the license for subsoil use).
