      Today, on the 30th day of the month of Safar (August 13), a press conference was held at the residence of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan regarding the organization and conduct of the citywide Mawlid in Kazan. The blessed month of Mawlid - the month of the Prophet's ﷺ birth will begin today after sunset. The speakers of the meeting included the Deputy Mufti of Tatarstan for work with muhtasibats, Imam-Khatib of the "Marjani" mosque, Ravil Hazrat Zuferov, the head of the DUM RT apparatus, Irek Arslanov, the qazi of DUM RT, Imam-Muhtasib of the Yutazinsky district, director of the "Fanis" madrasa, Marat Hazrat Mardanshin, and the general director of the "Zakat" Charity Fund of DUM RT, Bulat Mardanov. The speakers talked about what the Muftiyat has prepared in honor of the Prophet's ﷺ birth and what events will take place in Tatarstan.

      On August 29, a citywide Mawlid will be held in Kazan, dedicated to the birth of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Tatarstan, with the assistance of the Administration of the President of Tatarstan, the Prefecture of the "Old City" of the Kazan Executive Committee, and the Fund for the Support of Islamic Culture, Science, and Education, is organizing a large-scale event as part of the Republic of Tatarstan Day. All those wishing to attend are invited: residents of Kazan and guests of the capital.

      The citywide Mawlid an-Nabi in Kazan will take place in the Old Tatar settlement opposite the "Marjani" mosque at the intersection of Khaiuma Nasiri and Fatikh Karima streets. The event will start at 11:00 AM, and the official opening will take place at 1:00 PM.

      The Mawlid organizers have prepared a rich cultural and educational program for guests of all ages. The highlight of the Mawlid will be a drawing for two pilgrimage tickets among Muslims. Unlike last year, the drawing for pilgrimage tickets will take place in two stages: a random selection of 10 tickets with unique numbers from a transparent drum and a quiz on the topic of Hajj among the holders of these tickets. The winners, who will receive pilgrimage tickets, will be determined based on the results of this quiz.

      The Mawlid stage will also feature theatrical performances, beloved hazrats will present speeches, and well-known Tatar artists and groups will perform their creative numbers within the framework of religious canons. A common theme throughout the program will be respect for teachers and the pursuit of knowledge. There will be quizzes with prizes for children. Additionally, a Halal Market fair will operate at the Mawlid venues.

      Furthermore, as part of the Mawlid, the "Zakat" Charity Fund of DUM RT will conclude the "Help Prepare for School" campaign – 150 first-graders and schoolchildren from low-income, large families, and single-parent families from across the republic will receive backpacks and school supplies in a festive atmosphere for Knowledge Day.       As part of the citywide Mawlid, the "Marjani" mosque will also host the IV Forum of Tatar Abytays. The meeting will be held under the title "Abytay – the Guardian of Peace and Harmony: Traditions, Family, Unity of Peoples." The official opening of the forum will be at 9:00 AM.

      The blessed month of Rabi al-Awwal, popularly known as Mawlid, will begin on August 13, 2026, at sunset and will last until September 11. This is one of the most significant months in the Islamic calendar, exalted by the birth of the last Messenger of Allah, Muhammad ﷺ. Mawlid is traditionally celebrated throughout the entire month of Rabi al-Awwal. On this occasion, thematic evenings and majlises will be held in mosques across Tatarstan. Thus, throughout the month of Mawlid, on Wednesdays after the Iqinda prayer, evenings of speeches by beloved Tatar hazrats will take place at the Kazan mosque "Marjani." The first to speak next week will be the chief qazi of DUM RT, Jalil Hazrat Fazlyev.

      Additionally, during Mawlid, trips for DUM RT hazrats to the SVO zone are planned to deliver humanitarian aid and conduct Mawlid evenings with the participation of soldiers.
