On August 13, Thursday, a round table titled "Practical Implementation of Monastic Vows in Modern Conditions" was held at the Center for Slavic Culture in the village of Diveevo, Nizhny Novgorod Region.
The round table was held with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, chaired by Metropolitan Georgy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas.
The meeting was organized by the Synodal Department for Monasteries and Monasticism, the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese, and the Commission of the Inter-Council Presence of the Russian Orthodox Church on the organization of monastic life and monasticism.
The event was attended by Bishop Mephodiy of Almetyevsk and Bugulma, delegates from the Almetyevsk Diocese, and teachers from the Orthodox Gymnasium in Almetyevsk named after Saint Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir.
The moderator of the meeting was Metropolitan Georgy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas, who is the chairman of the Commission of the Inter-Council Presence on the organization of monastic life and monasticism.
A multitude of archpastors who participated in the divine service today took part in the round table.
The event included 225 delegates from 45 dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church located in the Volga Federal District.
At the beginning of the conference, Metropolitan Georgy welcomed the participants. After the speeches, the results were summarized, and a resolution of the meeting was adopted.
The participants of the round table expressed deep gratitude to His Holiness, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, for the blessing to hold the round table and noted the significant practical importance of the round table and the spiritual benefit from the mutual exchange of experience.
