The Republic of Tatarstan has secured a place among the top five leaders of the Spartakiad of Russia.

      In the national sports championship, athletes from Tatarstan won 11 medals. According to the press service of the republican Ministry of Sports, over the course of fourteen days of competitions, athletes from the region secured 11 medals: four of the highest honor, three silver, and four bronze. The highest step of the podium was reached by: Evgenia Kosetskaya and Anastasia Redkina, who triumphed in the women's doubles badminton; Daria Lekomtseva, who showed the best result in trap shooting; and the women's and men's national teams in field hockey, which provided the republic with a "golden double." Second place was taken by judoka Alana Alborova in the weight category over 75 kg, Ekaterina Demina in the trap discipline, and also Evgenia Kosetskaya in women's singles badminton. The bronze medals went to the men's rugby-7 team from Tatarstan, judoka Daria Baskakova (up to 52 kg), shooters Oleg Pantyukhin and Elena Mindagalieva, as well as the mixed duo Timur Gataullin and Milena Vidmanova in trapeze. Large-scale comprehensive competitions are taking place simultaneously in seven subjects of the Russian Federation until the end of September this year. The sporting prestige of the republic is defended by 364 athletes, declared to participate in tournaments in 33 sports.
