"Vedomosti": Chief Economist of VEB.RF Andrey Klepach has resigned.

      The chief economist of VEB.RF, Andrey Klepach, has left his position after more than 10 years of work in the state corporation. A new person will be appointed to this position in the near future, and their candidacy has already been determined. The reasons for the personnel decision were not specified by the representative of VEB.RF, reports "Vedomosti". Andrey Klepach has been working at VEB.RF since 2014, having moved from the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. In 2019, he left the board of the state corporation but retained the position of chief economist. Before joining VEB, Klepach served as Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia from 2008 to 2014. Previously, he headed the macroeconomic forecasting department of the ministry and also worked at the Central Bank and the Institute of National Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In recent years, the economist regularly presented forecasts on the Russian and global economy. Klepach was also involved in the development of long-term documents for Tatarstan. In 2015, he joined the expert council for preparing the Strategy for the Socio-Economic Development of the Republic until 2030. Along with him, the council included, in particular, Vladimir Mau, Yaroslav Kuzminov, and Mikhail Dmitriev.

      In June, Klepach continued to publicly speak as the chief economist of VEB.RF. He became one of the scientific editors of the report "World-2026: Between Confrontation and Cooperation," dedicated to changes in the global economy, and participated in its preparation for the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The report addressed issues such as the rise in international tensions, trade restrictions, and changes in the structure of the global economy.
