The recruitment of listeners for the All-Russian project "School of Interethnic Journalism" has been announced.
The organizers are looking for candidates aged 18–30, residing in any corner of the country. The acceptance of applications for participation in the All-Russian mentoring project "School of Interethnic Journalism" has begun. Training in 2026 is structured in a two-tier system, including regional and federal blocks. In the first stage, participants will be introduced to the basics of working in the field of interethnic journalism, key provisions of state national policy, and the specifics of media activities both locally and centrally. Students will acquire skills in covering interethnic issues in various genres and formats. The second, federal module, includes presentations by capital experts, an ethnographic expedition, as well as participation in a hackathon and specialized creative workshops. A hybrid format is provided: a combination of in-person meetings and remote connections. This year, at least 14 regional sites will join the project. Training is completely free, but candidates will have to go through a competitive selection process. The organizers are looking for candidates aged 18–30, residing in any corner of the country. If there is a local branch of the school in the applicant's hometown, they will attend in person; if not, online participation is provided. It is important to note that in 2026, the project is taking place under the sign of the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. Margarita Lyanche, President of the Guild of Interethnic Journalism, emphasizes that the key task of the school is not only to teach correct and careful coverage of the cultural traditions of various ethnic groups but also to show what unites the multinational population of the country. This direction has been given special attention in the project for 12 years. To compete for a place in the school, from September 1 to 15, it is necessary to send information about oneself (full name, date of birth, city of residence, place of work/study, link to social networks, email address, and mobile phone) and a motivation letter to school@nazaccent.ru. In the motivation letter, one must answer the question "Why do I want to study interethnic journalism?" in detail (at least 1500 characters). Those who pass the initial selection will be invited for an interview—either in person or via video link. The most successful students who have shown themselves, including in social media management, during the regional stage will be allowed to the in-person part of the training in Moscow. The host party will cover travel and accommodation expenses. A certificate will be issued upon completion of each block. Classes will take place in the fall of 2026: the regional module – September-November 2026, the federal module – late November 2026. The school was founded in 2010 at the initiative of the Guild of Interethnic Journalism as a professional development course for journalists working with interethnic themes. Since 2015, it has been functioning as an all-Russian mentoring project, receiving the approval of the President of Russia. Over 11 years of the program's existence, more than 3500 young specialists have completed training.
This year, the course is organized in collaboration with the Federal Nationalities Agency. Author: admin
