3.2 billion rubles will be spent on IT projects and communication infrastructure development

Such plans, as well as intentions to provide Tatarstan with quality mobile communication and further digitalization of the region, were announced at the mid-year collegium of the Ministry of Digital Development of the republic. According to the head of the Ministry, Ayrat Khayreullin, more than five hundred base stations have been commissioned and modernized since the beginning of the year. By the end of the year, this figure is planned to double. "Today, Tatarstan is a regional leader in the digital sphere in the country," he said, emphasizing that digitalization is improving the economy, social sphere, and the lives of Tatars citizens. As noted by the deputy prime minister of the republic, Shamil Gafarov, mobile network operators in Tatarstan are ready to invest in the development of base stations, but municipal leaders must provide necessary assistance. He pointed out the need to resolve issues related to the allocation of land plots for such stations. Gafarov also noted that despite extensive work, there are still places in the republic where mobile communication is absent. The deputy prime minister called this unacceptable and emphasized the necessity of intensifying efforts in this area. Furthermore, he urged addressing the issue of when, during the declaration of unmanned danger regimes, both internet and telephone communication are lost. Gafarov highlighted the importance of developing solutions to maintain mobile phone connectivity. Additionally, the process of creating a new citizen notification system is ongoing in the republic. It is expected that in the first phase, more than five hundred stations will be created in 11 cities of Tatarstan. Over 1,600 complexes will be installed across the republic, covering about 75% of the population with the new notification system. The authorities are also paying special attention to a large-scale project aimed at creating a unified video surveillance integration platform.
