Russia named the regions with the largest number of traffic law violators — Tatarstan is not among them.

      Russia recorded more than 11.8 million drivers who violated traffic rules (traffic regulations) in 2024, RIA Novosti reports, citing data from the Russian Interior Ministry (MVD). The leaders in violations were Moscow, the Moscow Region and Dagestan.

      Thus, the most traffic violators were identified in the capital — 1.16 million, followed by the Moscow Region — 1.14 million, and Dagestan — 516 thousand drivers who disregarded the rules in 2024. In Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Region a combined total of over 523 thousand offending motorists was recorded, and more than 377 thousand in Sverdlovsk Region.

      The Central Federal District was the leader in the number of traffic violations among the federal districts. It recorded 3.4 million violations; second was the Volga Federal District, which includes Tatarstan, where more than 1.8 million offending drivers were caught; third was the North Caucasus Federal District — 1.1 million.

      Recall that in early August the acting head of the Traffic Police Department of the Interior Ministry for Tatarstan, Damir Bikmukhametov, reported that since the beginning of the year the republic had recorded more than 1.7 thousand road accidents. In accidents in 2025, 161 people died and more than 2.1 thousand sustained injuries of varying severity.
