Prokhor Chaliapin will be a special guest at a celebration for pensioners in Kazan.

      Well-known artist and singer Prokhor Shalyapin will headline Life-Lovers' Day in Kazan on September 9. The celebration will take place in Gorky Park. This was reported by the Department of Culture of the Kazan Executive Committee.

      The organizers note that all 17 cultural centers and 49 libraries in Kazan participating in the project of the same name are involved in preparing Life-Lovers' Day. The exact program of the celebration will be published later, but it is already known that guests can expect creative meetings, concerts and active master classes.

      Shalyapin is known to the general public as a participant in TV projects and a vivid personality of show business. He was born in Volgograd in 1983 and gained real popularity after taking part in the TV show "Fabrika Zvyozd — 6" ("Star Factory — 6"). Over the years of his creative career the artist has released several music albums, tried his hand at theatrical productions, acted in films and regularly performs at concert venues in Russia and abroad.

      In addition, his relationship with 69-year-old businesswoman Larisa Kopenkina, who was significantly older than the singer, received wide publicity. Their marriage was actively discussed in the media. Later, other personal stories of the artist were also discussed.

      In Kazan the project for active citizens "Zhiznelyub" ("Life-Lover") started on December 1, 2016 on the initiative of Mayor Ilsur Metshin. Any pensioner who wishes can attend free classes in clubs on topics of interest located within walking distance at 91 city venues: in houses of culture, libraries, municipal sports institutions, and during the summer — in the city's parks, squares and on the embankments.

      In 2024 more than 1.7 thousand events and over 6 thousand classes were held for Kazan pensioners in these areas; they were attended by more than 623 thousand people, among them 1.6 thousand newly joined Zhiznelyub participants.
