Residents of Tatarstan are invited to participate in a republic-wide environmental competition.
Applications for the republican competition “ECOlider” have opened in Tatarstan. The competition is being held by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan with the support of the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. The initiative is being implemented as part of the national project “Environmental Well‑being.”
Enterprises, educational institutions, local self‑government bodies, public organizations, journalists and residents of the republic are invited to participate. Applications can be submitted until November 15 by email to Eco.pros@tatar.ru or in person at the Ministry of Ecology.
The competition covers a wide range of nominations. In the field of environmental education there are categories for preschools, schools, as well as universities and institutions of additional education. Organizations and entrepreneurs can present projects in the areas of protection of water resources, atmospheric air, waste management and environmental safety.
Municipalities will be able to vie for awards for achievements in environmental protection on the territories of towns and rural settlements. Separate nominations are dedicated to teaching experience, initiatives of public associations and citizens, as well as media work — from publications and news items to bloggers and videographers. In addition, the best state inspector of the Republic of Tatarstan will be chosen.
The ceremonial awarding of the winners is scheduled for December 2025. The competition has been held since 2004. Last year organizers received 291 applications; the areas “Environmental Education” and “Teaching Experience” attracted the greatest interest.
