The State Committee for Bioresources of the Republic of Tatarstan reported on people wishing to obtain a hunting license without taking an exam.
To obtain a hunting license, as of September 1, 2025 it is necessary to pass an exam. Two days before the new measure came into force, the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Bioresources recorded a barrage of applications from those wishing to obtain the document without an exam.
This was reported today at a press conference at Tatar-inform by the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Biological Resources, Radik Mutakharov.
"400 applications were received in the last two days — August 30 and 31 — to obtain a hunting license without an exam," he said.
For comparison, the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Bioresources receives about 2.5–3 thousand such applications per year. In total, about 70 thousand hunters are registered in the republic, but only about 30 thousand people actually hunt actively.
In September, amendments to the Federal Law "On Hunting" came into force. A mandatory free exam on the knowledge of the hunting minimum has been introduced to obtain a hunting license. Candidates for hunters are required to undergo training and testing. Instead of a brief verbal confirmation of knowledge, they must now pass theory and practice. There are more questions, and their level of difficulty has increased. The exam must be taken both by those newly obtaining hunting licenses and by those who have been deprived of the document for one reason or another.
