      Today, September 4, a meeting of the Government Commission of the Republic of Tatarstan on Road Traffic Safety was held in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Head of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, Deputy Chairman of the Government Commission of the Republic of Tatarstan on Road Traffic Safety, Shamil Gafarov.

      “Based on the results of eight months in Tatarstan, according to operational data, 2,020 road traffic accidents were recorded, in which 199 people were killed and 2,447 were injured — while the number of accidents and injured decreased, the number of fatalities is increasing,” noted Rustem Garipov.

      He added that on federal and regional roads in the republic the number of accidents and victims decreased, while the number of fatalities increased by five people. On local roads the number of accidents increased by 18 cases, fatalities increased by two people compared with the same period last year. The number of injured also rose by 33 people.

      Participating in the meeting via videoconference were the chairman of the municipal commission for road traffic safety I.Kh. Salikhov, prosecutor of the Agryzsky District A.S. Nepomnyashchiy, and members of the road traffic safety commission of the Agryz municipal district.
