      On September 5, 2025, a meeting took place at the Kazan-Bogoroditsky Monastery in the city of Bugulma between Bishop Methodius of Almetyevsk and Bugulma and Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Yuri Kamaltynov.

      Also taking part in the meeting were the deputy mayor of the city of Bugulma Irina Belova and the head of the Federal State Institution “Pre-Trial Detention Center No. 3” of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Republic of Tatarstan, Dmitry Dulov.

      His Grace told Yuri Zimelevich about the history of the holy monastery, conducted a tour of the Cathedral Church of the monastery, and spoke about the recovery of the lost holy relic — the Albazin Icon of the Mother of God, whose solemn reception took place on August 10 of this year.

      During the meeting Yuri Kamaltynov became acquainted with the history of the monastery, the main stages of its reconstruction, and the frescoes of the cathedral that have been preserved to this day.

      Bishop Methodius also informed him about the progress of the construction work to restore the historic monastery wall that had been destroyed during the years of turmoil.

      At the conclusion, Yuri Zimelevich thanked His Grace for the tour and the warm welcome.

      In commemoration of the visit to the monastery, the Archpastor presented the guest with a book about the history and establishment of the Bugulma Monastery.
