      Specialists recommend carrying out autumn soil treatments with biological products to protect against late blight in the next season.

      The autumn period is recognized as the most effective time to fight late blight — a dangerous disease of solanaceous crops. Unlike summer treatments aimed at combating symptoms, autumn measures allow direct action on the source of the infection — the pathogen's spores that overwinter in the soil. A key element of protection is the use of biological products based on the fungus Trichoderma harzianum, which naturally suppresses the development of late blight. After harvest and complete removal of plant residues, it is recommended to water the soil with a working solution of Trichoderma prepared according to the manufacturer's instructions.

      An important condition for success is the thorough removal and destruction of infected tops of tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants, and peppers. Plant residues should not be composted or buried in the ground — they must be burned or removed from the plot. Additional protection is provided by sowing cover crops (green manure) and mulching treated beds. Carrying out autumn treatment helps create a healthy microbiological environment in the soil that will retain its protective properties during the winter and provide prevention of late blight in the next season. The method is environmentally safe and contributes to the restoration of the soil's natural fertility.
