The State Duma said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have withdrawn from the frontline towns of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are slowly but retreating from the frontline towns of Zaporizhzhia Oblast — this will reduce the number of shellings. This statement was made to TASS by a deputy of the regional legislative assembly, deputy chairman of the committee on defense, interaction with law enforcement agencies and emergency situations, Sergey Yurchenko.
"The AFU are slowly but steadily retreating along the entire front — from Vasylivka to Rozivka. Thus, they are moving farther and farther away from our towns in the frontline zone, which should affect the number of shellings," he noted. The lawmaker added that the AFU are suffering fairly heavy losses during the retreat.
On August 30, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov summed up the results of the spring-summer campaign of the special military operation in Ukraine. He said that during it Russian forces liberated 79% of the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and 99.7% of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR). The Chief of the General Staff emphasized that the special military operation will continue. Also, according to him, 74% of Zaporizhzhia and 76% of Kherson oblasts are under the control of Russian troops.
On the night of September 7, Russian forces struck objects of Ukraine’s military infrastructure. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, tactical aviation, strike drones, missile troops and artillery hit facilities of the military-industrial complex and transport infrastructure that were being used in the interests of the AFU. In the Ukrainian capital, strikes were carried out on the industrial enterprise "Kyiv-67" on the western outskirts of Kyiv and the logistics base "STS-GROUP" on the southern outskirts of the city.
