A call for applications for the "Up!" youth competition has begun in Tatarstan.

      The application campaign for the republican competition "Vverkh!" has started in Tatarstan.

      The project is implemented with the support of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, within the framework of the national project "Youth and Children." The organizer of the competition is the Ministry for Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan together with the Regional Public Organization "Academy of Creative Youth of RT."

      "Thanks to the support of the Rais of RT Rustam Minnikhanov, we see how the competition grows stronger every year and opens the way into public institutions for the most motivated and talented young people. The 'Vverkh!' competition is not limited to the final and internships," said Rinat Sadykov, Minister for Youth Affairs of RT.

      "Its main significance is that it provides young people with real tools and experience, and the republic with trained personnel for public service. For participants it is a chance not only to test their abilities but also to make a name for themselves in the professional community," he added.

      The "Vverkh!" competition was held for the first time in 2009 and since then has become the initial launch stage for Tatarstan youth into public service. Its main goal is to form a personnel reserve and prepare young specialists to work in government bodies. The competition combines an educational program, a system of competitive tests and subsequent internships, which makes it a unique format in our country.

      Over the years of "Vverkh!" thousands of residents of the Republic of Tatarstan have taken part in the competition. Winners have completed internships in key ministries of the republic, and many of them later continued to work in government bodies, youth governments and public organizations. Thus, following the first years of the project, the best finalists joined the Youth Government of the Republic of Tatarstan under the Cabinet of Ministers of RT.

      The competition program includes four consecutive stages:

      - Remote stage (until September 30) – submission of an application on the website rezervrt.ru/vverx;

      - Development program (October 10–11) – an intensive with lectures, trainings and meetings with experts;

      - Competitive procedures (October 7–28) – a series of competitive tests including group interview, testing, solving sectoral cases, essay writing, business correspondence, data analysis and individual interview;

      - Internships (November 12 – December 5) – practical placements in ten executive bodies of the republic: from the Ministry for Youth Affairs, the Ministry of Economy to "Tatmedia" and the Ministry of Sports.

      Citizens of Russia aged 18 to 35 inclusive who permanently reside in the territory of Tatarstan and do not have dual citizenship may participate in the competition.

      Each year the project collects hundreds of applications from young residents of the republic.

      Over the years many graduates of "Vverkh!" have made successful steps in their professional careers. For example, Ulyana Dremina today works at the Ministry for Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Kamila Kulikova at the Education Department of the Executive Committee of the city of Kazan. These stories show that "Vverkh!" is becoming not just a competition, but a springboard for career growth.

      Since 2022 the competition has used its own developed tool – the "Vverkh!" media platform, developed with the support of Rosmolodezh. This is an online platform that operates year-round and helps to popularize public service among young people.

      Expert support in creating materials is provided by specialists from the Department of Civil Service and Personnel under the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as representatives of Tatarstan's ministries. Thanks to this, participants receive reliable and up-to-date information.
