In Tatarstan, the collection of oak acorns for growing seedlings has begun.

      In Tatarstan, as part of the national project "Ecological Well-being," the collection of pedunculate oak acorns has begun. The collected material will be used to grow new seedlings, the press service of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan reports.

      As the deputy head of the department Ilgizar Zaripov said, this year it is planned to collect at least 9 tons of acorns. Pedunculate oak was chosen not by chance, as it is one of the main species in Tatarstan's forests.

      The entire collected harvest will undergo strict inspection at the Republic's Forest Protection Center. There the acorns will be carefully sorted and their quality checked, after which corresponding certificates will be issued.

      It should be recalled that national projects in the country have been implemented since 2019 at the initiative of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. The decree "On the national development goals of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030 and with a prospect to 2036" was signed by the head of state on May 7, 2024.
