      In Tatarstan, women are having their first child after the age of 25. This was reported to Tatar-inform by the Children's Rights Commissioner in the Republic of Tatarstan, Irina Volynets.

      Earlier, TV host Elena Malysheva urged young women to give birth between the ages of 18 and 26. In her view, this is the ideal age for motherhood from the perspective of female nature.

      “The average age of giving birth to a first child has shifted significantly. As of today, our women more often have their firstborn after 25,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

      Volynets also noted that women had children at 18 a hundred years ago, when they were not required to obtain an education or a profession.

      “Today it is impossible to impose an age on anyone for when they should give birth. It must be a measured, conscious decision of an adult. Ideally, one should have children when you have met your person and created a family with them. Then your outlook on everything changes,” the children’s ombudsperson believes.

      As for the financial aspect, she said there should also be reasonableness in this matter.

      “‘Standing on your own two feet’ is a flexible concept. For one person it means getting an education, and for another — buying an apartment, a car, and often a person achieves all this by the age of 40, when it is already difficult to become a mother. Malysheva is a physician, and she urges earlier childbearing from a medical standpoint, since pregnancy is a trial for health and the body, and therefore she asks people not to delay this matter. But reasonableness is needed in everything. One must understand that nature also has its own clock, especially regarding women, and not forget that we live in a material world in which one must not only enjoy life but also provide for it,” the speaker concluded.
