      Such popularity of Kazan among tourists is explained not only by convenient logistics but also by reasonable prices and a busy business agenda planned for September.

      Kazan became one of the most attractive Russian cities for budget travel in September, taking fifth place in the ranking of affordable tourist destinations. This was stated by Yuri Barzykin, Vice President of the Russian Union of the Travel Industry. As the head of the union said, during September the cost of tours within Russia has fallen significantly, especially for southern resorts and destinations. For example, package trips to the Black Sea coast, including Krasnodar Krai and Crimea, have become 30% cheaper compared to the prices in the summer period. “The velvet season is still ongoing, however the cost of flights after the August peak decreases, so the Black Sea coast resorts are in high demand,” Barzykin clarified.

      Second in terms of affordability is Mineralnye Vody, where tourists actively travel until mid-October due to comfortable weather. The list also includes Moscow, the Moscow Region and Saint Petersburg. Experts link Kazan’s appeal not only to affordable prices but also to the relevant business agenda — several large business forums, congresses and industry events with international participation are scheduled in the city for September and October. Convenient logistics also influence travelers’ choice, Barzykin noted. In addition, river cruises, which will continue until November, and trips to Baikal, where prices have already fallen, are noted among budget options, writes Tatar-inform.

      Earlier it was reported that half of the hotels in Tatarstan may close due to failure to comply with the new requirements of Rosaccreditation.
