Zainsk volunteers sew 'invisibility' suits: how nylon and foam are saving the lives of urban assault troops

      Volunteers from Zainsk have established production of a unique new-generation camouflage netting.

      Unlike standard models for forests and fields, these coverings visually blend with ruined urban development. The volunteer movement in Zainsk continues to find new, more effective ways to support participants in the special military operation. This time the volunteers have mastered the technique of weaving specialized urban camouflage nets. Their key distinction is the precise imitation of the texture and color of ruined buildings, rubble and concrete, which makes vehicles and fighters virtually invisible in urban terrain. One of the first to master this technique was Margarita Kazak. She has been helping the front since the very first days. Having seen her son off to the special operation after he was mobilized, the woman firmly decided to support him and his comrades by working on the home front. To create a net that convincingly resembles an urban landscape, the volunteers use non-standard materials: construction polystyrene foam and nylon tights or stockings in flesh-toned and gray shades. The foam is crushed and painted, then woven into a nylon base. This solution offers a double advantage: the net can be easily cut into fragments of the required size to cover specific positions, and thanks to the synthetic materials it does not absorb moisture and does not get soaked in the rain. Now the volunteers’ main task is to increase production of these much-needed frontline nets. For this they need everyone’s help. The organizers of the campaign appeal to all residents: if you have unwanted pieces of styrofoam (for example, from appliance packaging) and nylon tights of suitable colors, they can be donated to the "Maskseti" workshop. It is located in the Arcadia restaurant building. Your contribution could become a real lifesaver.
