In Tatarstan, searches continue for passengers who drowned after a boat capsized on the Volga.
Rescuers continue search operations on the Volga in the Zelenodolsk District, where a boat with passengers capsized the day before. The tragedy occurred near the village of Oktyabrsky, and since then divers have been searching for two missing persons.
Over two days divers have surveyed a water area of 1.1 hectares using a parallel-sweep search method. With the use of hydroacoustic equipment "GBO Hydro", an additional area of 54 hectares was surveyed. Despite large-scale efforts, the searches have so far yielded no results.
According to the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Republic of Tatarstan, operations were temporarily suspended at nightfall.
Rescuers plan to resume the searches tomorrow.
