      At night and in the morning of September 16, fog is expected in places across the Republic of Tatarstan and in the city of Kazan.

      The Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Republic of Tatarstan recommends:

      If you are outdoors and notice the fog thickening, you should take measures to avoid losing your bearings in the forest or on the water. Fog poses a danger to all road users. When driving in fog, you should refrain from unnecessary lane changes, overtaking, and passing. Most road traffic accidents in foggy conditions involve the vehicle traveling ahead. It is important to bear in mind that fog reduces perceived distances – it is advisable to increase your usual following distance and reduce speed.

      Avoid sudden braking: if you need to stop, reduce speed smoothly. Press the brake pedal several times to signal drivers of vehicles behind you. Driving in fog increases driver fatigue; extra caution is advisable.

      When driving a car in conditions of poor visibility, refrain from unnecessary lane changes, overtaking, and passing.

      Remember and observe fire safety rules:

      · Do not abuse alcoholic beverages; never smoke in bed.

      · Do not leave electrical household or gas appliances switched on and unattended.
