A Pyaterochka store in Kazan was temporarily closed due to rodents.
The Pyaterochka store at 22 Sary Sadykova Street suspended operations for 60 days by court order, the Rospotrebnadzor Directorate for Tatarstan reported.
The decision was made after an inspection carried out by the directorate in response to residents' complaints about the presence of rodents in the outlet.
The inspection revealed numerous violations of sanitary and epidemiological standards:
- Fresh signs of activity of brown rats were found in the storage areas, the product loading zone, the sales area and the bakery preparation area.
- Engineering and technical measures to prevent rodent ingress have not been implemented: there is no sealing of utility passage points, and holes were found in the walls of the sales area.
- The sales area is in an unsatisfactory sanitary and hygienic condition: dirt, crumbs and spilled grains.
- The storage premises are cluttered.
- Merchandise is stored haphazardly, without pallets.
Due to the threat to the life and health of citizens, Rospotrebnadzor drew up protocols on administrative offenses and a temporary ban on activities, sealed the store premises and sent the materials to court. The court agreed with the agency’s arguments and ordered the store’s operations suspended for 60 days.
