      Putin urged to “act with full commitment”

      At the start of the meeting the President of the Russian Federation congratulated the regional heads on their election victories. “That you received convincing support as a result — obviously both in direct voting and when elected through regional legislative assemblies,” the President noted. He emphasized that the electoral campaigns were held in competitive conditions and that in all regions — and with high turnout — the winners were either incumbent leaders or those who had been acting in those capacities. “That is, our citizens, the voters, evaluate candidates by concrete deeds, by results, and this is, without doubt, a sensible, responsible approach, an indication of the maturity of electoral culture and civil society as a whole. It is clear that people expect the continuation of the country’s strategic course of development, that it will bring further improvements in their regions, home cities and towns,” the head of state said. To justify the trust placed in them, he called on them to “act with full commitment.”

      Regional heads should bring veterans of the special military operation into their management teams

      Putin stressed that the overarching key task is strengthening the sovereignty and security of the state. “In this regard, great importance is attached to what the regions do to support the defense-industrial complex, to the active, practical support of our servicemen who are at the front, veterans of the special military operation, and their families — these are all tasks that, without doubt, remain key for us. I expect that such work will continue,” he said. The President paid special attention to the importance of implementing national projects in the regions. “Significant resources are being directed to the implementation of national projects. And, of course, people should see concrete, tangible results right where they live,” Putin added. Vladimir Putin also urged regional heads to involve veterans of the special military operation in their management teams. “I am convinced: the devotion to the Motherland shown by our servicemen, people who have undergone combat hardening, their firm inner principles should serve as guides for everyone who today is in government bodies and in decision-making positions,” the head of state said.

      Minnikhanov: “Supporting fighters and their families is a priority”

      Putin gave the floor to several regional leaders, including the head of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Irina Gekht; the governor of Tambov Oblast, Evgeny Pervyshov; and the governor of the Jewish Autonomous Region, Maria Kostyuk. Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov also spoke. He thanked Vladimir Putin for the constant attention and comprehensive support provided to the regions and the republic. The Rais of Tatarstan reported that on September 14, 2,230,000 people participated in the elections, with turnout of 75.8%. “We created all necessary conditions to enable voting by our defenders performing their military duty in the area of the special military operation. For this, five extraterritorial polling stations were set up in military units,” Minnikhanov said. Elections were also held at the local level — a total of 7,531 deputies were elected, including 113 participants of the special military operation. “We regard the results of the recent elections as an endorsement of the chosen course, implemented in close cooperation with the federal center under your leadership, dear Vladimir Vladimirovich,” said the Rais of Tatarstan. He emphasized that the republic provides comprehensive support measures for fighters and their families. “This task remains a priority for us,” Minnikhanov said.

      Tatarstan’s economy grew by 2.9%

      The Rais of Tatarstan also spoke about the republic’s economy — despite unprecedented pressure, it continues to develop and the main macroeconomic indicators are growing. Gross regional product this year shows growth of 2.9% compared to the same period last year in comparable prices. The industrial production index is 111%. “Enterprises of the republic’s defense-industrial complex continue to work intensively to fulfill the strategic tasks set by the state,” Minnikhanov emphasized. The volume of construction work has not declined — this year 2.8 million square meters of housing have already been commissioned (an increase of 1.8%), and the agricultural sector is growing by 7.6%. Grain and legume harvesting has been completed to date. More than 4.5 million tonnes of grain have been threshed. Harvesting of the traditional late crops is underway. All this allows the republic’s population to be fully provided with agricultural products and allows a significant volume to be shipped beyond its borders. “We are sincerely grateful for the national projects; we pay them great attention, because they are real measures to improve the quality of life of our people. Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, I want to assure you that the teams of the republic’s Government and local self-government bodies formed after the elections are further intent on productive work in all areas, and are ready to continue to justify the trust placed in them by the country’s leadership and by you personally, Vladimir Vladimirovich,” Minnikhanov concluded. In response Putin said: “Rustam Nurgaliyevich, the republic for many years has demonstrated very good rates of growth of regional gross product, rates of economic development, and serves as an example for many subjects of the Federation in the development of the social sphere. You are an experienced person and are truly respected in the republic. I sincerely wish you success. I am sure that all the tasks set will be solved. And Moscow, of course, will always be nearby, will support your initiatives, you know this, we are in constant contact.”

      “You must fulfill the promises you made to citizens”

      At the end of the meeting Putin said that, based on the course of the election campaign, it is clear what needs to be done. “And what is needed? You must fulfill the promises you made to citizens, to voters, our people during the election campaign as goals for regional development, for solving social issues,” the President of the Russian Federation urged. He stressed that the tasks that face the regions must be solved in a specific locality, in a specific subject of the Federation. “People are waiting for solutions to these issues. They supported us and you, and they expect that current issues will be resolved in accordance with the promises you made during the election campaign. I am confident that people listened carefully and heard everything. And they hope that under your leadership the respective regions and territories of Russia will develop at the rates and with the quality that you announced,” the President of the Russian Federation said and wished success to the newly elected regional heads.
