To mark the International Day of Older Persons, Kazan will hold a free legal aid campaign.

      A day of free legal assistance timed to the International Day of Older Persons will be held in Tatarstan on September 30. Citizen reception will take place from 09:30 to 12:30 at the House of Friendship of the Peoples of Tatarstan in Kazan, the press service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan reported.

      Residents of the republic will be able to receive consultations from lawyers of the State Legal Bureau of Tatarstan, attorneys, notaries, as well as representatives of relevant agencies and supervisory bodies. Specialists will explain the procedures for enforcement of court decisions, debt collection, processing of social benefits and compensations, pension and medical provision issues, and inheritance and notarial actions.

      In addition, assistance will be provided for housing and labor disputes, personal bankruptcy procedures, complaints about the actions of authorities and other general legal issues.

      The press service of the Ministry of Justice noted that a joint reception by experts from different agencies will allow residents to resolve a wide range of issues in one place without having to contact several institutions. Special attention will be paid to problems relevant to elderly citizens; however, everyone who applies will receive consultations.

      To participate you must have your passport and documents related to the issue. Reception will be on a first-come, first-served basis and is free of charge.

      The ministry emphasized that such events are held regularly in the republic and are aimed at improving the public’s legal literacy and ensuring access to qualified legal assistance.
