In Tatarstan, thousands of hectares of forest have been successfully restored as part of the national project "Ecological Well-being".

      This year, employees of the forestry sector of the Republic of Tatarstan completed large-scale work to survey and restore forest stands on an area of approximately 2,500 hectares. These measures were carried out as part of the implementation of the regional project "Preservation of Forests in the Republic of Tatarstan," which is part of the federal project of the same name included in the national project "Ecological Well‑being." The Ministry of Forestry of Tatarstan officially reported this.

      According to Ilgizar Zaripov, the First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, simply put, healthy and robust forest masses have formed on the specified area. He emphasized that forest restoration requires a long time and considerable effort: "The process begins with seed harvesting, followed by seedling cultivation and subsequent planting. After that it is necessary to regularly carry out agrotechnical care for the young trees. The ultimate success of the whole process depends on the quality of the measures undertaken."

      Active work is also continuing to meet the target of another direction of the regional project — accumulating a sufficient amount of high-quality seed material for further effective reforestation and afforestation. According to the plan for 2025, the seed stock should total 11.455 tonnes.

      So far, specialists of the agency have already collected 6,284 kg of seeds, among which oak seeds predominate (4,679 kg), birch (779 kg), and pine (529 kg). In addition, there is a significant quantity of seeds of other valuable tree species, including spruce (69 kg), larch (38 kg), and ash (190 kg).

      Thus, the Republic of Tatarstan is actively working to preserve and increase green areas, ensuring the region's ecological balance and supporting the biodiversity of forest ecosystems.
