A man was killed by a train in Tatarstan.

      In Tatarstan, investigators have launched a probe into the death of a 54-year-old man on the railway. The Kazan investigative department for transport of the Central Interregional Transport Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia has organized a preliminary inquiry under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of safety rules for the movement and operation of railway transport). According to preliminary information, on the afternoon of September 27 at Zeleny Dol station a man was fatally injured while crossing the railway tracks at an undesignated place. The train driver took emergency measures, but was unable to prevent the tragedy. The man died on the spot from his injuries. Investigators are conducting initial inspection activities and are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
