A resident of Naberezhnye Chelny has been deprived of the right to operate vessels for bribery when obtaining a certificate.
The Naberezhnye Chelny City Court granted the transport prosecutor’s claim and annulled a local resident’s certificate authorizing the operation of small vessels. The decision was based on a previously established fact that a bribe had been given to an official.
The court confirmed that the 30-year-old man illegally handed 20,000 rubles to an inspector of the Nizhnekamsk division of the GIMS Center of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) for Tatarstan. The bribe was paid to obtain the rights to operate boats and motorboats without the mandatory passing of a practical exam.
Earlier, the Nizhnekamsk City Court had already found the man guilty of an offense under Part 3 of Article 291 of the Russian Criminal Code (offering a bribe) and sentenced him to two years’ suspended imprisonment with a fine of 200,000 rubles. The transport prosecutor filed a suit seeking annulment of the illegally obtained certificate, which was fully granted.
