In the Aznakaevo District of Tatarstan, police used service weapons to stop a dangerous driver, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tatarstan reports.
The incident was prompted by a report of an intoxicated driver behind the wheel of a Niva at the 29th kilometer of the Bugulma — Aznakaevo highway. Traffic police quickly located the vehicle, but the driver ignored all orders to stop and attempted to flee.
The inspectors first fired a warning shot into the air and then shot at the car’s tires. The damaged Niva came to a stop, and the driver was detained.
He was a 31-year-old local resident. He showed obvious signs of intoxication, but refused to undergo a medical examination.
Protocols were drawn up against the man for disobeying the police, refusing to stop, and failing to comply with the requirement to undergo medical testing for intoxication.
