      European politicians who claim there is a Russian threat should quiet down, sleep peacefully and mind their own problems. This was stated by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, speaking at the plenary session of the Valdai International Discussion Club.

      "To be honest, I sometimes just want to say [to European politicians], calm down, sleep peacefully, finally deal with your own problems. Look at what’s happening on the streets of European cities," the head of state noted.

      Putin called the words of Western politicians about an alleged Russian attack on NATO nonsense:

      "Sometimes I watch what and how they say things, and I think, they can’t believe it themselves. They can’t believe what they are saying, that Russia is going to attack NATO. It’s impossible to believe this, and yet they are convincing their own people. So what kind of people are they? They are either very incompetent, if they really believe it, because it’s impossible to believe this nonsense, or simply dishonest, because they themselves don’t believe it, but are trying to convince their citizens of it," the Russian leader emphasized.
