According to the Telegram channel Baza, Suleymanov was detained on the night of October 2. The court will soon decide on a preventive measure. The investigation will seek his arrest.
Ibragim Suleymanov is considered one of Russia’s most influential oligarchs. He was previously convicted of fraud and money laundering but retained his influence. Suleymanov has been credited with control over the state airline ticketing system JSC “Sirena-Travel” and with influence in the transport, aviation and IT sectors.
Also in Moscow, a court has sentenced the perpetrator of the contract killing of businessman Oganes Kamaryan. In the summer of 2022 the criminal ambushed the victim near his home on Komsomolsky Prospekt and fired four shots at him. The businessman died at the scene. The accused pleaded guilty and received 12 years in a strict-regime penal colony.
