The first game of the "BiblioOlymp. Russia" project was held in Kazan.
The theme of the current round brings together classic and contemporary authors: Pyotr Yershov, Nikolai Nosov, Vladimir Odoevsky, Sofya Prokopyeva.
The first game of the all‑Russian project “BiblioOlimp. Russia” was held at the Robert Minnullin Republican Children’s Library. The “BiblioOlimp” project is a series of intellectual games for students, including literary quizzes, creative discussions and erudite duels. Originally a series of literary games for Moscow schoolchildren, in 2025 the project gained all‑Russian status and united participants from ten regions: Arkhangelsk, Belgorod, Voronezh, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk and Ulyanovsk oblasts, the republics of Tatarstan, Bashkortostan and Sakha (Yakutia), and Saint Petersburg. The initiative was scaled up thanks to the support of the Presidential Grants Foundation and the Russian Book Union.
The theme of the current round brings together classic and contemporary authors: Pyotr Yershov, Nikolai Nosov, Vladimir Odoevsky, Sofya Prokopyeva and others.
A total of six rounds are planned within the project. Winners of the regional stages will meet in Moscow at the superfinal to compete for the main “BiblioOlimp. Russia” cup.
“From October 2025 to June 2026 dozens of literary tournaments will be held in regional libraries, the winners of which will meet at the superfinal in Moscow,” Irina Mukhametgareeva, director of the Robert Minnullin Republican Children’s Library, told Tatar‑inform.
The final award ceremony for the winners will take place on June 6, 2026 — the birthday of the classic of Russian literature Alexander Pushkin.
Participants in the tournament will solve literary tasks and riddles, as well as answer questions about well‑known works. According to the library director, in the first game schoolchildren will analyze the work of the author of the fairy tale The Little Humpbacked Horse, Pyotr Yershov.
A participant in the intellectual games — a student at Gymnasium No. 155, Alim Sadreev — shared his impressions of the contest and talked about his preparation for it.
“I’m in the fifth grade. I’ve always done well in literature; even from first grade I read a lot. I’ve always had a solid A in literature. My favorite writer and poet is Pushkin. I hope to gain more knowledge from this game; I had been preparing very hard before this,” said the participant of “BiblioOlimp.”
The second stage of the intellectual games will take place from November 7 to 25. The project is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Russian Book Union and the Presidential Grants Foundation.
