      In Kazan, doctors successfully saved a 33-year-old patient with the extremely rare and life-threatening MERS syndrome — a lesion of the posterior part of the corpus callosum of the brain.       The man was admitted to a medical facility with symptoms of pneumonia, cough, and general weakness. Over the course of a week he also developed neurological disturbances: insomnia, hand tremor, a feeling of heaviness in the head, and increased anxiety. A team of physicians promptly conducted differential diagnosis and established the precise diagnosis.

      An interdisciplinary approach was used for treatment. After stabilizing the pulmonary infection and improving the patient's neurological condition, he was transferred to a specialized ward for further therapy. As a result, the treatment led to normalization of body temperature, significant improvement in sleep, and a reduction in tremor and anxiety.
