      The “Clean Air” campaign in Tatarstan, held in support of the national project “Environmental Well‑being,” has concluded. Every year the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, together with the Traffic Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tatarstan, and from 2024 — also with Rostransnadzor for the Volga Federal District, carry out inspections aimed at reducing the harmful impact of vehicle exhaust on the atmosphere. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan.

      From June 1 to September 30, 2025, specialists inspected 6,497 vehicles, including 6,007 passenger cars, 270 trucks and 220 buses. Of these, 5,732 vehicles ran on gasoline, 582 on diesel fuel and 183 on gas fuel.

      Exceedances of permissible emission limits were recorded in 168 vehicles — 2.6% of the total number inspected. 151 passenger cars, 12 trucks and 5 buses failed the inspection. Most violations were found in older vehicles manufactured before 1986, with zero and first environmental classes. No exceedances were found in vehicles of the sixth class.

      Ildar Shakramov, head of the Atmospheric Air Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, noted that the republic continues to show a steady trend toward a reduction in the number of vehicles with elevated concentrations of harmful substances in exhaust gases — from 7.7% in 2016 to 2.6% in 2025. According to him, this is helped by fleet renewal, the decommissioning of old vehicles and the use of fuel with improved environmental characteristics at filling stations.

      Inspections were carried out in 28 districts of Tatarstan. At permanent checkpoints control was exercised daily, and in the districts twice a month. In the Prikamye directorate inspectors checked vehicles at the “Tula‑1” post in Naberezhnye Chelny and in seven districts of the Prikamye zone of the republic. A total of 2,056 vehicles were examined and 36 cases of exceedance were identified. In the South‑East directorate specialists inspected 400 vehicles, 47 of which showed exceedances.
