Kazan police detained a drug courier.

      Employees of the Drug Control Department of the Interior Ministry Directorate of the Russian Federation for the city of Kazan received information that a local resident was engaged in drug distribution. A 20-year-old man was detained in the Novo-Savinovsky district while setting up a stash of prohibited substances.

      During a personal search, in the presence of witnesses, narcotics police seized 30 packages with an unknown substance inside from the suspect’s bag, and 25 packages from the pockets of his trousers. All seized items were sent for examination, which confirmed the presence of the narcotic substance "ephedrone" weighing more than 135 grams.

      A criminal case has been opened; the suspect has been arrested.
