      Artur Salakhov, deputy head of the executive committee of the Nizhnekamsk district, left his post after a fight in the city administration building. As Chelny-biz.ru was told by the mayor’s press service, after the publication about the incident the city head Radmir Belyaev initiated an official inquiry. It revealed disciplinary violations and conduct that did not meet the standards of the Code of Official Ethics.

      “Artur Rafaelovich Salakhov, who held the post of deputy head of the executive committee of the Nizhnekamsk municipal district, submitted a letter of resignation of his own accord. Artur Salakhov’s decision to resign has been accepted and approved by the leadership of the Nizhnekamsk municipal district,” Chelny-biz.ru was told by the executive committee’s press service. “The city administration always adheres to strict principles of official ethics and expects employees’ conduct to meet the high standards required of municipal servants. Such incidents are unacceptable and undermine trust in local government bodies. This incident will serve as a lesson for all employees and will act as a reminder of the need to observe the ethical standards and rules of conduct established for municipal employees.”

      It is also reported that in the near future additional measures will be organized among city and district administration employees to strengthen corporate culture and increase accountability for their actions.

      The day before, Chelny-biz.ru’s editorial office reported that Salakhov’s opponent, Rafis Fatykhov, a specialist in the executive committee’s department for interaction with law enforcement agencies, also resigned. According to the publication’s sources, the scuffle between the men occurred over work-related matters directly in the local administration building after another meeting.
