A hero of the special military operation gave an environmental lesson to schoolchildren in Almetyevsk.

      An unusual eco-lesson took place at the M.K. Tagirov Lyceum in Almetyevsk. It was conducted by a hero of the special military operation, Igor Yegorov, who drew the youngest lyceum students' attention to the topic “Caring for the environment.” In his talk this topic was organically combined with the core values — love for the native land and responsibility for its preservation, the press service of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan reported.

      This was already Igor Yakovlevich’s third meeting with schoolchildren. After returning from the front, he once again devoted himself to an important cause — nature conservation. The “Batyrlar. Heroes of Tatarstan” program, which supports SMO veterans and helps them apply their skills in civilian life, helped him return to his profession. Igor Yegorov’s mentor within the program is the Minister of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, Alexander Shadrikov.

      For Igor Yegorov, ecology is not just a job. Since 2001 he has worked for the benefit of Tatarstan’s nature, safeguarding its riches, and in 2022 he went to the front without hesitation. After returning he continues to serve in the South-Eastern Directorate of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, caring for his native region.

      At the lesson Igor Yakovlevich spoke to the children simply and sincerely about the essentials: how to appreciate the beauty of the surrounding world and why it is important to care for one’s homeland. The children watched an educational film and then had the opportunity to speak personally with a participant of the SMO. For them he became a living example that real strength is the ability to protect and preserve. Igor Yegorov spoke about Tatarstan’s protected corners, rare animals listed in the Red Book, and about what every pupil can do today to contribute to nature conservation: plant a tree, collect waste paper, or simply not litter.
