      This past weekend the final of the 17th Republican contest of young combine operators “We Honor the Worker” was held at the Sarmanovsky District House of Culture. The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov and Acting Rector of Kazan State Agrarian University Ilshat Nuriev.

      This year, for the first time, young combine operators from all 43 municipal districts are participating in the contest — those with the highest grain outputs during the 2025 harvest campaign. It is held with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, the state television and radio company “Tatarstan,” and Kazan State Agrarian University.

      Marat Zyabbarov emphasized that thanks to the hard work of combine operators and their responsible attitude, the republic maintains steady growth in all areas of the sector. “The profession of combine operator has always been and will continue to be an honorable one! The path you have chosen is absolutely the right one! Agriculture in the republic is developing, and there is significant support for the industry from the republic’s leadership and the federal ministry. Thanks to new technologies, machinery, automation and digitalization we are moving forward and achieving food self-sufficiency for the republic and the country as a whole,” the minister noted.

      The national project “Technological Support of Food Security” helps train specialists for the agro-industrial complex and promote blue-collar professions.

      The overall winner of the contest was Bulat Safin from Sarmanovsky District. Second place went to Ferdinant Zakiryanov from Aktanyshsky District. Third place — Ilnaz Zakirov from Apastovsky District.

      In the “Record Threshing” category, the victory went to Sergey Ibragimov, a machine operator from Chistopolsky District. In the “Best Theoretical Knowledge” category, Ilyas Samigullin from Baltasinsky District won. And in the “Best Practical Knowledge” category, Islam Nasibullin from Zainsky District was unrivaled. The youngest participant in the harvest was Bulat Zinnurov from the Kaybitsky Municipal District. The longest work experience belongs to Denis Lapaev from Vysokogorsky District.
