      In Kazan a 67-year-old woman lost 295,000 rubles after a call from scammers who posed as employees of the Pension Fund.

      The woman said that an unknown person contacted her, introducing himself as an employee of the Pension Fund. Under the pretext of recalculating her work record he requested personal information and a confirmation code.

      Some time later someone claiming to be a representative of Gosuslugi messaged her and informed her that scammers had called her and suspicious activity had been noticed in her personal account, which could lead to unauthorized withdrawals. The stranger convinced the woman to secure her accounts.

      Over several days she transferred 295,000 rubles to the scammers. After they stopped contacting her, the woman went to the police. A criminal case has been opened under the charge of "Fraud".
