      In Bugulma, the court sided with the prosecutor’s office and granted its claim to transfer to state revenue the Mazda car and the apartment purchased by the city’s former mayor, Linar Zakirov, for 7.5 million rubles.

      “He acquired them with unverified income for his close acquaintance,” the Prosecutor’s Office of Tatarstan said.

      Recall that earlier the court seized property worth more than 116 million rubles from Zakirov and his family into state revenue. It was proven that neither the former mayor of Bugulma nor his relatives could have bought, on their official incomes, real estate in Moscow, Kazan and Sochi, as well as a Porsche Cayenne, which Linar Zakirov had registered in his mother-in-law’s name.
