      Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan — Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov today reported at a meeting in the House of Government of the Republic of Tatarstan on the progress of harvesting industrial crops, stubble cultivation and the condition of winter crops. This was reported by the press service of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan.

      The video-conference meeting with the participation of all municipal districts was held by the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin also took part.

      The upcoming harvest area amounts to 146 thousand hectares, including 86 thousand hectares of sunflower, 46 thousand hectares of corn, 6 thousand hectares of sugar beet and 7 thousand hectares of soybean. Over the past two weeks 38 thousand hectares have been harvested, which is 20% of the total volume. Work is being complicated by rains.

      The largest areas remain in Muslyumovsky (11 thousand hectares) and Aznakayevsky (9 thousand hectares) districts. More than 7 thousand hectares still need to be harvested in the Aktanyshsky, Sarmanovsky, Aksubayevsky and Bugulminsky districts.

      Processing of sugar beet continues: to date 768 thousand tonnes of raw material have been processed, producing 109 thousand tonnes of sugar.

      Winter crops were sown on 490 thousand hectares, of which 82% (403 thousand hectares) are in good condition, 17% (83 thousand hectares) — in satisfactory condition, and about 1% (5 thousand hectares) — sparse. After the onset of frosts it is planned to determine the sugar content in the tillering nodes.

      To date 1,464,000 hectares of stubble/fallow areas have been worked, which is 94% of the total volume, including 560 thousand hectares with deepening of the arable layer. More than 500 units of equipment are engaged in the work daily. More than 250 thousand hectares remain to be completed.

      For the 2026 harvest, farms have purchased 75 thousand tonnes of mineral fertilizers, which corresponds to 15 kg of active ingredient per hectare of planned sowings. The Ministry of Agriculture together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia annually approve a fertilizer supply plan for each region to avoid shortages.

      The correct choice of varieties and seeds is of particular importance, which allows increasing yields by 10 centners per hectare and more. The share of high-reproduction seeds in the republic in recent years has remained at 38%, which is the third-best result in Russia.
