A quarantine has been declared in Tatarstan due to bird flu.
The Rais of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, signed a decree introducing restrictive measures (a quarantine) in certain areas of the Yutazinsky and Bavlinsky districts. The reason was the detection of foci of highly pathogenic avian influenza and the threat of its spread.
Epizootic outbreaks were registered at the peasant farm "Latipov Niyaz Rafailovich" and at one of the household plots in the Dym-Tamak rural settlement of the Yutazinsky district.
In accordance with the decree, three zones with special measures have been established around the infection foci. In the epizootic centers, the import and export of poultry, eggs, feed and poultry products, the slaughter of poultry, and visits to the areas by outsiders are completely prohibited.
In the threatened zone (within a radius of 5 km), similar restrictions have been introduced: fairs and markets are prohibited, as is keeping poultry free-range. Several settlements in the Yutazinsky and Bavlinsky districts were included in it.
The surveillance zone (up to 100 km) includes territories of nine municipal districts of the republic — among them Aznakaevsky, Almetyevsky, Bugulminsky and others.
The measures were taken to prevent the spread of the virus and to protect the region's poultry farms.
