Alexey Sozinov met with State Duma deputy Yaroslav Nilov.
Chairman of the State Duma Committee of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans’ Affairs Yaroslav Nilov met today with Alexey Sozinov, chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan’s Committee on Social Policy. The parliamentarians discussed issues of further cooperation and interaction between the relevant committees of the State Duma and the State Council. The meeting took place in the republic’s parliament.
Opening the meeting, Yaroslav Nilov congratulated Alexey Sozinov on his election as head of the committee. Recall that on September 25, during the thirteenth session of the State Council, Alexey Sozinov’s candidacy was unanimously supported by the deputies. Svetlana Zakharova, who previously headed the Committee on Social Policy, was appointed Commissioner for Children’s Rights in Tatarstan. “I wish you, in your new role, to do everything to strengthen the republic’s and our state’s social policy. There are many issues: we must find funds to finance the social sphere, strengthen and develop it, and, most importantly, preserve the principle of targeted social assistance. On this we are united, regardless of the region in which we live and work,” emphasized the chairman of the Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans’ Affairs.
Yaroslav Nilov also spoke about bills currently under consideration by the relevant committee. In particular, a bill on the federal budget for the coming three years, as well as a bill related to providing benefits for mothers awarded the “Mother Heroine” title, have passed the first reading in the State Duma. “In addition, our portfolio includes bills related to amending pension legislation in order to support families with children,” Yaroslav Nilov noted. “In this regard, today we have already visited the client service of the Pension and Social Insurance Department in the Vakhitovsky District of Kazan. Such engagement at the regional level with those who implement the law will allow us to find mechanisms in the near future,” he stressed.
As the deputy noted, this concerns a difficult but often encountered situation when a mother who is on maternity leave falls ill at the same time as her child. In that case, the father is no longer able to take sick leave for himself, because the mother is already on parental leave. A complex bureaucratic procedure begins, which the deputies intend to correct.
As Yaroslav Nilov noted, next year the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans’ Affairs plans to hold an off-site meeting in Tatarstan. “Thanks to our coordinated work and established contacts, many issues are resolved more quickly,” Yaroslav Nilov said. “It is precisely our strong and long-standing ties with the republic’s parliamentary committee that allow us to build mutually beneficial work for the region and for the country as a whole. Our joint work should continue to be built along these lines.”
Alexey Sozinov, in turn, thanked Yaroslav Nilov for the close cooperation and the large-scale joint work of the relevant committees of the State Council and the lower house of the Russian parliament, as well as for supporting initiatives and issues aimed at improving the well-being of the republic’s residents. He also congratulated the country’s citizens on Unity Day and Tatarstan residents on the upcoming Constitution Day. “The Constitution of Tatarstan was adopted in this parliamentary building 33 years ago. The republic’s fundamental law enshrines the highest priority of the individual — their rights and freedoms, the observance and protection of these rights and dignity, and the provision of social guarantees. And the state’s primary concern is to secure these rights,” Alexey Sozinov said.
Yaroslav Nilov is currently in Kazan on a working trip as part of regional week, where he plans to visit a number of social facilities. This morning, accompanied by Alexey Sozinov, the State Duma deputy visited the Pension and Social Insurance Department for the Republic of Tatarstan in the Vakhitovsky District of Kazan. Tomorrow Yaroslav Nilov will review the work of the children’s health camp “Miras-Nasledie” and the Sports Palace in the Zelenodolsk District, and will also participate in the awarding of the winners of the All-Russian “Idel – 2025 in memory of honored Russian coach G.S. Tarasov” figure skating competitions.
