Climatologist Timur Aukhadeev explained the anomalous warmth that settled in the Republic of Tatarstan in the final month of autumn in an interview with the editorial staff of the "Tatarstan 24" website.
"It's all due to circulation processes. The established westerly advection in the atmosphere brought cyclone after cyclone to us, and along with the macro-vortices warm air masses from the Atlantic, warmed by the Gulf Stream, were brought to us," Aukhadeev explained.
He recalled that the previous day a temperature record dating back 102 years was recorded in Kazan — the air warmed to +8.9 degrees. According to climatic norms, thermometers should now read around -3.6 degrees, and there should be snow outside.
