On the day of the patronal feast, a moleben was held in the reviving Church of St. Michael the Archangel in the village of Kovali.
On November 21, on the Feast of the Synaxis of the Archistrategos Michael and the Other Bodiless Powers of Heaven, a moleben was served in the old St. Michael the Archangel Church in the village of Kovali (Pestrechinsky District, Tatarstan).
The service was officiated by the rector of the Intercession Church of the village Tyulyachi, Priest Alexey Pavlov. At the conclusion Father Alexey thanked those gathered for their prayers on the day of the patronal feast. The priest noted that through the efforts of local residents a roof has been erected over the altar area, the walls strengthened, and a stove installed, which will allow services to be held in the church during the winter months.
After the service a festive meal and a conversation with the priest were organized in the churchyard.
It should be recalled that in September of this year the village of Kovali was visited by Metropolitan Kirill of Kazan and Tatarstan. The archpastor inspected the old church and discussed issues of restoring the holy site with the head of Pestrechinsky District, Rais Suleymanov. The hierarch spoke with local residents and blessed the labors of believers wishing to make a modest contribution to the revival of the wooden church, which had lain neglected for 95 years.
