      In Naberezhnye Chelny, at the age of 87, Honored Teacher of the TASSR Roza Zakirova, who made a significant contribution to the development of education in Tatarstan, has died.

      During her professional career she was also awarded the title "KAMAZ Construction Shock Worker" and received the Order of the October Revolution and the Order of the Badge of Honour.

      A graduate of Kazan University, she began her teaching career in the republics of Central Asia, teaching Russian literature. From 1971 Roza Zakirova's career was linked with Naberezhnye Chelny, where she headed the first newly built School No. 13, which at times accommodated up to 3,000 students.

      In 1980 Zakirova became the director of Innovative School No. 35 — the first experimental educational institution in the USSR equipped with a swimming pool, a TV studio and modern teaching workshops. This educational institution, designed for 2,356 pupils, became a flagship of Soviet education thanks to its unique infrastructure and progressive teaching methods.

      The farewell to the innovative teacher will be held at the "Taube" mosque in Naberezhnye Chelny.
