"Sport is a way of life": older residents of Menzelinsk passed the GTO standards.

      At the Yubileyny Sports School, a festival of the All‑Russian physical culture and sports complex GTO "Active Longevity" for older adults was held.

      The event, organized as part of the federal project "Sport — the norm of life", brought together the most active and athletic residents. Twelve participants aged 55 and over, representing five organizations of the town and district (the gymnasium, the "Solnyshko" kindergarten, the "Olimp" sports school, Secondary School No. 3, Matveyevskaya and Urusovskaya schools), took to the start to test their strength, flexibility and endurance.

      The festival’s sports program included several trials:

      · forward bend on a gymnastic bench;

      · raising the torso from a supine position in one minute (sit‑ups);

      · push‑ups from a gymnastic bench and from a chair seat.

      The best in their level according to the results were: Nazmeev Radik Mirzayanovich — Gymnasium (XVIII level), Nazmeeva Ramziya Tagirovna — Secondary School No. 3 (XVII level), Kukarkin Mikhail — Sports School "Olimp" (XVI level), Shakirova Svetlana — Preschool No. 8 (XV level).

      Each festival participant was presented with commemorative prizes, and the winners received certificates and gifts.
