Mother's Day: a celebration that brings hearts together
On the eve of the holiday, the Central Children’s Library subscription desk in Laishevo organized an exhibition-greeting “A Conversation About Mom.”
On the last Sunday of November we celebrate Mother’s Day — a holiday dedicated to the dearest and most beloved women — mothers. This day is an opportunity to express our gratitude and love to them. At the subscription desk of the Central Children’s Library an exhibition-greeting “A Conversation About Mom” has been organized. It features literature that will introduce young readers to the history of the holiday’s appearance in Russia and beyond. Children will be able to learn how Mother’s Day is celebrated in different countries around the world, what the traditions, customs and features of its celebration are.
The exhibition presents works by classics of children’s literature such as E. Blaginina, A. L. Barto, A. Platonov, S. Georgievskaya, as well as works by Tatar children’s writers — L. Гыймадиева, Mөҗәhит, F. Әhлия and others. The theme of the mother occupies a special place in the work of contemporary children’s writers such as V. Gamayun, E. Pol, A. Debord, A. C. Westly.
The creative workshop “Magic Palms” prepared a special gift for mothers — a shimmering tulip-shaped brooch made with a bead-weaving technique on felt. A gift made by a child’s hands is the most precious and touching gift for any mother.
