      The Kazan Committee for External Improvement reported an increase in the number of graffiti incidents in the city's underpasses. The municipal enterprise "City Bridges" noted that the problem has acquired a persistent character and remains relevant. According to the enterprise, over the year it was necessary to paint over more than 3,000 sq. m of surfaces. Most often the underpasses along the BKK and the Mamadysh Trakt suffered from the drawings. The largest volume of work fell on the underpass on Poperechno-Bazarnaya Street. Not all inscriptions can be hidden with ordinary paint. Graffiti on polycarbonate, granite and marble is removed with special solutions. After repeated cleanings the polycarbonate becomes cloudy and loses transparency. Paint on porous stone surfaces penetrates deeper, which complicates treatment. Work on such surfaces covered 2,348 sq. m. The committee noted that graffiti are most often left by young people who either ignore the fact that they are committing an offense or do not realize its consequences. Residents of Kazan are urged to report such cases so that, by working together, the cleanliness of the city's facilities can be maintained.
